To see the very best of Senegal birding we advice you to take our Northern Senegambia Birding Experience. 
After landing at Banjul we will pick you up and go straight for to the first Lodge of our journey. We get adjusted to Gambia but not for long because the next day we cross The Gambia river to enter Senegal for the first time and the rollercoaster will begin. :-) After that we will jump from one superb location to another using both superb lodges and great hotels near or in the middel of the birding areas.

Part of the NSGBE is the visit of an island at the coast near Dakar. We wille see some really nice species which we can only spot there. Its one of many special places on this journey.

All the stops will work towards the centre of Senegal birding which is the Djoudj national park. We will stay in the hart of the park in a hotel with great chefs and superb food. Leave the room, turn a corner and you are at the water side with hundreds of birds from all type of species like the Flamingo's of the first picture. That was taken right outside the hotel area.

We will also have a view boat trips like you are used from GBE as we think this is the best way to approach many birds in a natural way. The boat trip in Djoudj itself will be breath taking as you will be surrounded by hundreds of pelicans as we will visit their colony in the centre of the park. The colony has been hit by a virus some years ago but is getting back and recovering from that. 

It is latterly mind blowing and besides all sorts of mammals we will take as a bonus the birds are the most important. On each trip we encounter the beautiful Crowned Cranes. Both on land as in the air on fly-by from the boat like shown on the pictures below. 

For this trip we have a minimum number of people of 4 to keep it practical and affordable as transportation will be decided by more people.

Na de landing in Banjul halen we je op en gaan we meteen door naar de eerste Lodge van onze reis. We raken gewend aan Gambia maar niet voor lang want de volgende dag steken we de Gambia rivier over om voor het eerst Senegal binnen te gaan en de rollercoaster kan beginnen :-) Daarna springen we van de ene schitterende locatie naar de andere met gebruik van zowel schitterende lodges als geweldige hotels dichtbij of in het midden van de vogelgebieden.

Onderdeel van de NSGBE is het bezoek aan een eiland aan de kust bij Dakar. We zullen een aantal echt mooie soorten zien die we alleen daar kunnen spotten. Het is een van de vele bijzondere plekken op deze reis.

Alle stops werken toe naar het centrum van het vogelen in Senegal: het Djoudj nationaal park. We verblijven in het hart van het park in een hotel met geweldige koks en heerlijk eten. Verlaat de kamer, sla een hoek om en je staat aan het water met honderden vogels van allerlei soorten zoals de Flamingo's van de eerste foto. Die is net buiten het hotel genomen.

We hebben ook boottochten zoals je van GBE gewend bent, omdat we denken dat dit de beste manier is om veel vogels op een natuurlijke manier te benaderen. De boottocht in Djoudj zelf zal adembenemend zijn omdat je wordt omringd door honderden pelikanen als we hun kolonie in het midden van het park bezoeken. De kolonie is enkele jaren geleden getroffen door een virus, maar is zich aan het herstellen. 

​Het is werkelijk adembenemend en naast allerlei zoogdieren die we als bonus meenemen, zijn de vogels het belangrijkst. Op elke tocht komen we de prachtige Kroonkraanvogels tegen. Zowel op het land als in de lucht tijdens fly-by's vanaf de boot zoals op de foto's hieronder. 

Voor deze reis hanteren we een minimum aantal personen van 4 om het praktisch en betaalbaar te houden, want de vervoerskosten wordt dan gedeeld door meer mensen.

When we at GBE say we arrange All-inclusive Briding Experiences we mean All-Inclusive!

Included in our Experiences is:

• Collection from airport with 4 x 4, mini bus or group bus based on group size.  (On group trips with a bus the bus driver is included)
• All transportation during the Experience.(including all fuel)
• All the selected hotels and lodges overnight stays. (as long as they are part of the traveling plan)
• All breakfast, lunches (both field and in lodges) and diners. one soft drink at lodge lunch and two soft drinks or beers at diners.
• All fresh water bottles we provide every day all day.
• All soft drinks during the day which we keep on iso blocks in our coolers we bring along the Experiences to enjoy a cold and fresh drink now and then and during lunches.
• All park and/or nature reserve access, boat crossings during our traveling.
• All bird guid services. (on group trips both or more guides are included)
• All the many organized small boat trips are included. 
• The big all day boat trip on the Gambia river is also included and we take field lunches on board with us. GBE will tip the boat captains but you are free to do so as well.
• Returning you back to the airport to say goodbye.  

On top of that every GBE customer gets a free Gambia Birding Experience Cap. It's a real collectors item so please be prepared for local guides to start asking if they can have it. We are proud of our branding so in the end of the experience when you donate yours to a local Gambian we will replace yours with a brand new one. :-)

Excluded from the prices are:

• Flights to and from Gambia. (can be included on group bookings but on requests and again cost price)
• Insurances. You need to insure everything yourself. The trip risks on flights etc as well as the equipment you bring to the Gambia or Senegal. Most people have a ongoing 365 days insurance anyway. yes ure to arrange that and have world coverage on the equipment insurance as you are in Africa.
• Any injections or pills you need. (malaria pills, yellow fever etc)
• Any personal buys like souvenirs or extra food, drinks etc.
• Any alcohol drinks or any extra drinks / beverages on top of the free amount you get in the price.

Als we bij GBE zeggen dat we All-inclusive Briding Experiences regelen, bedoelen we All-Inclusive!

Inbegrepen in onze Experience is:

• Ophalen van luchthaven met 4 x 4, minibus of groepsbus op basis van groepsgrootte. (Op groepsreizen met een bus is de buschauffeur inbegrepen)
• Alle transport tijdens de Experience. (Inclusief alle brandstof)
• Alle geselecteerde hotels en lodges overnachtingen. (zolang ze deel uitmaken van het reisplan)
• Alle ontbijt, lunches (zowel in het veld als in lodges) en diners. een frisdrank bij lodge lunch en twee frisdranken of bier bij diners.
• Alle flessen drinkwater leveren we de hele dag door.
• Alle frisdranken die we gedurende de dag op isoblokken in onze koelers bewaren, nemen we mee met de Ervaringen om zo nu en dan en tijdens de lunch te genieten van een koud en fris drankje.
• Alle park- en / of natuurreservaattoegang, bootovertochten tijdens ons reizen.
• Alle vogelgidsen. (op groepsreizen zijn beide of meer gidsen inbegrepen)
• Alle vele georganiseerde kleine boottochten zijn inbegrepen.
• De grote boottocht op de Gambia-rivier is de hele dag inbegrepen en we nemen veldlunches aan boord. GBE geeft de kapiteins een fooi, maar dat staat u ook vrij.
• Terug brengen naar het vliegveld om afscheid te nemen maar hopelijk tot ziens te zeggen .

Bovendien krijgt elke GBE klant op deze trip een gratis Gambia Birding Experience Cap. Het is een echt verzamelobject, dus wees voorbereid op lokale gidsen die beginnen te vragen of ze hem mogen hebben. We zijn trots op onze branding, dus aan het einde van de Experience, wanneer u uw cap  schenkt aan een lokale Gambiaan(se), zullen we uw cap vervangen door een nieuwe. :-)

Uitgesloten van de prijzen zijn:

• Vluchten van en naar Gambia. (kan worden opgenomen in groepsboekingen maar op aanvragen en tegen boeking kostprijs)
• Verzekeringen. U moet alles zelf verzekeren. De reisrisico's op vluchten evenals de uitrusting die u meeneemt naar Gambia of Senegal. De meeste mensen hebben hoe dan ook een 365 dagen doorlopende verzekering. Zorg dat je controleert dat je een wereldwijde dekking hebt voor de apparatuur verzekering zoals u in Afrika bent.
• Alle injecties of pillen die u nodig heeft. (malariapillen, gele koorts, enz.)
• Persoonlijke aankopen zoals souvenirs of extra eten, drinken etc.
• Alle alcoholische dranken of extra drankjes / dranken bovenop het gratis bedrag dat u in de prijs krijgt.

Its a three stage method were we tailor our services to meet your requirements.

1. You contact us with the Experience selection form to inform us with some basic questions.
   1. Small day trips  or full service (7 days, 10 days, 14 days, 16 days) ?
   2. Single person, a couple, small or large group?
   3. Birding or photographing? ( we don't mix them up due to a different approach and another way of enjoying birding)
2. We get in touch and gather more specific information to determine your ultimate Experience.
   1. Do you want to see as much birds as possible in the least amount of time or going for perfect pictures?
   2. Are you interested in mammals or butterflies as well? (our main guide is also specialized in butterflies)
   3. Are you or the group interested in a specific list of birds? (in that case we tailor the locations to visit)
   4. The content of the group, younger people, older people or mixed. (we tailor the amount of walks and travel)
   5. Have you been to te Gambia and or Senegal before and want us to plan a trip with specific locations?
   6. If you want we can have a video call or if possible we come and personally explain the details of the proposal.
3. You get our offer for the birding experience of your lifetime.
   1. We can alter this trip based on your feedback on the initial proposal.
   2. Final program with pre-payment, booking of the lodges.
   3. Each person who joins our Experiences gets a Gambia Birding Experience cap.

   1. Wil je zoveel mogelijk vogels zien in een zo klein mogelijke periode of neem je de tijd en ga je voor perfecte foto's?
   2. Ben je ook geïnteresseerd in andere dieren of bijvoorbeeld in vlinders? (onze gids is ook gespecialiseerd in vlinders)
   3. Ben jij of de groep geïnteresseerd in a specifieke lijst van vogels? (in dat geval maken we het programma op maat om hieraan te voldoen en de locaties hierbij te selecteren waar we de meeste kans hebben om ze te vinden)
   4. De samenstelling van de groep, jonge mensen, oudere mensen of een mix daarvan? We houden dan rekening met de loop afstanden, reis tijden, rust pauzes en dat soort dingen.
   5. Ben je al eens in Gambia of Senegal geweest en wil je dat we een trip organiseren met specifieke locaties? 
   6. Indien gewenst komen we de mogelijkheden bij u persoonlijk toe lichten en door spreken.
3. U krijgt een passend en op maat gemaakt voorstel voor uw Gambia Birding Experience .
   1. We kunnen deze trip dan aanpassen op basis van uw feedback op ons initial voorstel om hem verder af te stemmen.
   2. Een definitief programma bevestigen we en sturen u een verzoek met een aanbetaling, We maken na ontvangst hiervan de boekingen van de lodges definitief. 
   3. Elke persoon die mee gaat met onze Experiences krijgt een Gambia Birding Experience pet.
